Do you love grilled foods but have no idea how to prepare any of them? Or maybe you are too tired to cook it especially during those sunny Sunday afternoons after church. Well, you can now rest your worries. I have a list of some of the easiest grilling recipes that use little ingredients and take relatively less time to prepare therefore saving your energy and precious time. Here are the top 3 easiest grilling recipes that you can quickly make in your backyard.
1. Grilled Shrimp Scampi
Here are the ingredients you need.
- A quarter cup lemon juice
- A quarter cup olive oil
- Three tablespoons freshly chopped parsley
- One tablespoon minced garlic
- One and a half pounds medium sized shrimp; peeled and deveined
- Crushed red pepper though this is optional
- Black pepper; should be ground
First, find a large non-reactant bowl. Add the garlic, black pepper, lemon juice, olive oil, and parsley then stir them together. You can choose to season with the crushed red pepper, but this is optional. Next, it is time to add the shrimp and toss to coat. Finally, marinate in the refrigerator for about thirty minutes. After that is done, preheat the grill for high heat. Then cut the shrimps on the skewers and pierce on the head and the tail while discarding any remaining marinade. Finally, oil the now hot grill grate and grill the shrimp threads for 2-3 minutes.
The shrimp can be served as a main dish or an appetizer.
The entire process takes about 35 minutes which is ideal for a quick lunch.
2. Honey mustard grilled chicken
What you need.
- A quarter cup of honey
- A tablespoon of steak sauce
- One-third cup of Dijon mustard
- Two tablespoons of mayonnaise
- Four boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
Procedure for preparation and cooking
Mix the honey, mayonnaise, mustard and the steak sauce in a shallow bowl. Remember to set aside a small amount of the honey mustard sauce which will be used later for basting while grilling. Preheat the oven to medium heat. Once the grill is ready, oil the grill grate then grill the chicken for approximately 20minutes. During the grilling process, occasionally baste with the reserved sauce especially during the last 10 minutes.
Preparation takes 15 minutes, and cooking takes 20 minutes and thus you need slightly above half an hour.
3. Barbecue shredded chicken
What you need.
- Boneless chicken thighs 3-4 pounds
- a large onion 1 PC diced
- Olive oil
- 2 minced clove garlic
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Two teaspoons of smoked paprika
- One and a half cup of barbecue sauce either homemade or bought from the store
Set the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Unpack the chicken and pat it dry. Find a heavy pot that has a lid and heat the olive oil over medium heat. Cook the garlic and onion for 5 minutes then add the paprika and stir. Now add the chicken piece by piece as you continue to stir to mix with the onion and garlic then add the barbecue sauce. Let it simmer for 2 minutes then turn off the heat. Cover this pot with a lid and then bake the chicken in an oven for about an hour until it is tender. Transfer it to a large bowl and using a fork and a knife shred it finely. The shredded chicken can be served with buns or slaw.
I believe these recipes will save you a great deal of time when you need to prepare something grilled for any mean whether lunch or a quick dinner with your friends over the weekend or during weeknights.
